Saturday I celebrated being 27 years old. Can't believe it's the last birthday before our birthdays don't really matter - or will seem low key compared to baby's birthday celebrations.
I suppose my birthday kicked off on Friday afternoon when Greg called to tell me he purchased a car. Yep, that's right - I technically got a car for my birthday. We got a Chevy Traverse (which is what I wanted) - G is still working out stuff with insurance and has to take it back to get detailed on Wednesday. But, looks like I'll be taking the new ride once all that is settled!
On my actual birthday (Saturday), we went to the gym, the grocery store, came home, I did some laundry and was lazy on the couch while G started painting all the bead board in baby's room. I also went through all the 0-3 months clothing we've gotten so far and it's been washed for safe keeping. Along with a crib sheet, pack-n-play sheet, some blankets and some other accessories. I also started putting some stuff on the guest bed that will need to be packed for the hospital. Things are starting to come together!
We went out to the Melting Pot for dinner - it was awesome.
G also gave me a pretty sweet Coach bag for my birthday - which is perfect. I had wanted a purse I could wear on my shoulder and across my body. I figure when baby gets here I'll appreciate not having something on my shoulders!
Sunday we had church, some lunch and then came home to nap for a bit. We then got up and headed over to our friend Allison's house for a Super Bowl get together. We left at halftime to watch the rest at home - but while there had some good food and enjoyed great company, too. There was a King Cake (New Orleans representing) and then a birthday cake for me! We have some pretty great friends. It was a super weekend - and we're looking forward to this weekend where we won't have to purchase a car, celebrate my birthday or watch a 5 hour sporting event!
