G calls me around 11:50am on Friday and says "I've been in a wreck - it was a hit and run - I'm okay" and of course I start to freak out. He tells me he'll call as soon as he can to update me.
About 30 minutes later I get a email...with this picture:
Talk about some more freaking out! Then about 15 minutes later I get a call: "The guy was drunk. He hit and ran another lady before hitting me". SCARY.
So, I then head to Durham to pick Greg up. He's fine - he was sore for a bit, but okay. Very thankful and blessed that he didn't get hurt. I take him to get a rental car and then head back to work for about an hour before heading home.
We later find out the guy was REALLY drunk. Driving without a license...and he didn't have insurance. And it was his 3rd offense. We are hoping the owner of the car he was driving (which was insured) will have to take responsibility for the the damages. We should know in the next few days or so if the Jeep is totaled. Greg is thinking it is. (apparently there is a lot of damage underneath the Jeep).
We were planning on getting a new car after baby arrived - around April or May - but, looks like that may happen sooner than expected.
Thanking God for Greg's safety and praying the guy that hit him learns his lesson and doesn't do this again as someone really could have gotten hurt.
