State Fair Media Lunch & Pitch Perfect review.

Today's you're lucky day. You're getting a two for one deal. Lucky you!

So, yesterday we attended the State Fair media lunch - you know, where they bless your food before you eat it, it's all fried food, and then they tell you what's new at the fair this year. Well, if you know me at all...you know that I LOVE THE FAIR. Almost as much as Chick-fil-A - and that my friends is serious business!

Here's what I had for lunch:

Steve Troxler saying "the fair is great, spend your money and let's pray that it doesn't rain" or at least something like that.

Now for the good stuff. We always get to try the new deep fried items at the fair...first up:
Deep fried cinnamon rolls with bacon on top. Perfectly perfect. 5 stars.
Next:
Deep fried golden Hostess Cup Cakes. Eh, 3.5 stars. I am not sure I would like these Cup Cakes before being fried - just not much there for me.
Overall, it was another successful kickoff for the fair. I can't wait to go and eat: a Mt. Olive 50 cent pickle, an ear of corn from the big stand near the NC State Ice Cream, NC State Ice Cream, a ham biscuit from the Methodist Church and Al's French Fries (just to name a few.). Some of G's favorites include the 50 cent milk from the dairy place and apple cider near the Village of Yesteryear. Here's to the Fair!

And last night, some friends from work and I went and saw Pitch Perfect (for free of course - perks of this job!). And before the movie we hit up Target and Chick-fil-A, in true North Hills movie night fashion. It was FANTASTIC. Seriously, so funny. And the singing was awesome. If you liked the Sing Off (which was cancelled. boo, hiss) and/or Glee - this movie is for you! I would go see it again, and I would either a) purchase it on DVD or b) keep it on my DVR when it goes into rotation 2 years from now on ABC Family. Check out this clip.

And you'll LOVE Fat Amy. She's the best:
