He did okay - I think the spoon is just so foreign to him that it takes some getting used to. So, we've started to give it to him each night around 7pm - when he's not starving, in a good mood and general pretty happy. The first night, G held him and he did okay - a few bites and that's it. (click here for the video!) The next night I put him in the bouncy seat and he did much better. Each day he gets a little better - now he even opens his mouth when the spoon gets close. Then, I went all crazy mom and found out there is a bit of arsenic in baby rice cereal. Yes. Crazy, right? Not enough to do harm I suppose since they still sell it. But, we figured we'll let him finish this container and then we're going to try the oatmeal cereal. And after that, we may try some baby food. I picked up frozen organic peas (gross) so that we can attempt to make our own. The goal is to make our own baby food...after we get a magic bullet. And, it could be another month or two before we offer him the peas. But, it'll be here before we know it!
