First - thank you all for your prayers and encouragement for our doctor visit yesterday. Baby Lane is growing fast - weighing in at a whopping 13 ounces - and it's heart rate was 144. Baby moved around a lot during the ultrasound - and it was so sweet to see this baby again. Such a gift from God - and a huge blessing that the brain, heart, lungs, etc (you know, all that important stuff) was working just as it should be. We met with a new doctor at our practice (Dr. Clark) and she was super sweet. I am officially up about 8 or 9 pounds - which she says is perfect. So, honey - keep that pasta coming!
I know you're dying to know if Baby Lane is a boy or a girl. Trust me - I have been dying to know for 20 weeks - eh, maybe more like 16 I guess! But have no fear - in just a few short days you'll be in the loop. So, at the ultrasound we had the technician put baby's gender in an envelope (sealed up tight!) and we took the envelope home where we got cleaned up for supper. We had dinner reservations for 7:30 at the Angus Barn (one of our favorites) and decided that at the very end of dinner we'd open it. So, I gave the envelope to Greg and he opened it - a big smile across his face, and he then slid the piece of paper over to me - we were both so happy - so much joy, excitement, happiness - all rolled into one. It was nice to be alone and open it together and to have a secret between the two of us for a few days. We can't believe that we are 20 weeks along and in about 20 more weeks we will get to hold this sweet baby.
So, what do you think? Is Baby Lane a girl or a boy?!
