A little of this, a little of that and a flat tire.

Weekend Recap:

Well - another weekend has come and gone. Mine sorta-kinda started at lunch on Friday with Rachel - we always have a good time and it felt like I should just be going home after that. But, I came back to work for a few hours and then finally called it a day.

Friday night G and I baked chicken and corn and did some couch surfing. You would have thought that by having a day off in the middle of the week we would have been rested...nope. Saturday we slept till 8 - ate breakfast and then G went to cut the grass as I headed out to get a pedicure and make a Target/Grocery run. I got home around 1 and we literally watched 4 episodes of "Mystery Diagnosis" on the Discovery Channel. Let me just tell you - if you watch it, you will think something is wrong with you physically like the people featured in the show. All night I kept thinking: is my pee a weird color? Does that mean I have jaundice? And then I finally convinced myself that I was fine. We got cleaned up and headed out for dinner downtown. We made it to The Pit early so we walked into the Videri Chocolate Factory (right across the street from The Pit) and saw how they make their chocolate, tried some samples and of course purchased candy bars.  Dinner was great - if you're looking for a more "upscale" BBQ joint - this is your jam. I mean, I have had better BBQ from places that look like total dumps. But you can enjoy a variety of southern food here and dessert - make sure you make a reservation!

G had the choice of two: beef brisket and pulled pork with mac n cheese and mashed potatoes. I went with the chopped BBQ, mac n cheese and french fries...carbs anyone?

Banana Pudding for dessert.
Sunday we went to Sunday School and had dinner with my parents at their house with my grandma, brother and his girlfriend. BUT - between Sunday School and dinner there was a little bit of drama...

So, you see...I have needed new tires since May so that my car would pass inspection (also due in May). However, things kept coming up and you see as of July 7th (Saturday) I still didn't have new tires or my car inspected.  I had asked bugged Greg about this several times but he told me not to ask him any more and that he had it under control. Well...when leaving Target on Saturday this nice man said, "Ma'am...I think your tire is flat". And doggone if it wasn't! I knew it was okay to make it home but that's about as far as it would go probably. So, I got home and told Greg "My front driver's side tire is flat. A man told me at Target." He responds "I am sure it's fine. I'll take your car on Monday or Tuesday and get new tires for you." (I shrug my shoulders and just think to myself: okay...I've heard that before...but, I will NOT bug him anymore).

Saturday we leave for dinner and G looks at the tire while getting into his Jeep.
G: Oh wow - this is really flat!
Me: Yep.
G: I'll take it after church tomorrow and make sure it has enough air in it and I will take it on Monday to get new tires.
Me: Uh-huh.

Sunday we leave for church and G is looking at the PASSENGER SIDE TIRE.
G: Look - this tire has an entire bolt in it. It will go flat soon.
Me: Wow.
G: I'll take this tomorrow - this isn't good.
Me: Sure isn't.

We get to Sunday School and we're a little early so G breaks out the cell phone and starts calling around (outside). He comes in.
G: We are taking the car to Just Tires in Knightdale. They can get it in at 11 - we'll need to skip service.
Me: Okay.

We get to Just Tires (which has signs promoting New Tires in 30 Minutes!) - which I know is probably a stretch but we drop it off a few minutes before 11 and decide to eat lunch next door at Rudino's. We see them pull my car into the bay at around 11:30. Then we waited and waited and waited. And FINALLY at 2pm the car is ready. But, I have new tires. Yay! And I pan to take my car at lunch today for the inspection.
