Freedom and Love. Seriously - the two best things in the world.

Happy 4th of July (early)! What a great holiday to sit around with friends, eat, drink and be marry! The 4th of July has always been one of my favorite holidays - however, it has become extra special.

G and I had our first (blind) date on the 4th of July in 2007. We met at the Chili's in Knightdale and then went to a Carolina Mudcats baseball game. It was a long first date considering we met for dinner around 4:30 and didn't get back to my car until around 11. However, it was the perfect date - G was the nicest, sweetest, cutest guy ever. He seemed nervous - but happy all at the same time. We had spoken on the phone for about an hour earlier in the week just chit-chatting and making our date plans. I made the suggestion of the Mudcats game (what can I say? I was hoping for fireworks - ha!) and G went out to the stadium around 11am on the 4th (which was about an hour from his apartment) and purchased tickets. Thank goodness he did. The game sold out early afternoon and our date would have ended early had he not done that. Little did we know that we'd never go on another first date ever again and that we'd end up married in 2010.

Here's to our freedom and for G and I being together for 5 years!

Cheese Alert:

G,

I love you more today than yesterday, but not as much as tomorrow. You are the kindest person I have ever met and I admire you just as much as I love you. I am thankful for you every day - even on a bad day- which is even more proof that God made you for me.

Forever and Ever,
me
