So - my job comes with a few perks. I won't even lie about it. I have probably been to more concerts, Broadway shows, local events, sporting events, etc. in my past five years working in radio than most people have their entire adulthood. However, last night was a first. Our radio station is a media sponsor of the N.C. Sports Hall of Fame and last night they had a special event at the N.C. History Museum and then a reception at the Governor's Mansion...pretty fancy. G was in heaven because NCSU coaches Mark Gottfried, Tom O'Brien and Kelly Harper were all there. Not to mention David Thompson, Tommy Burleson, Wendell Murphy, Dave Odom, and other people who I didn't recognize.
It was hosted by Gov. Perdue's husband, First Gentleman, Robert Eaves. To get into the house we had to show our IDs and get our bags checked. It wasn't the most fun party I've ever been to, but it was really cool to see all of these sports celebrities with their spouses just hanging out. There were only about 75 people there so it was pretty intimate. I tried to get G to take photos with all of
his heroes the NCSU coaches but he was too shy. I was totally down for it. If you ever want a photo with a celebrity, I'm the girl to ask for the photo and take it for you. I wanted to snap a few crowd shots of the celebs but I am really short and people kept getting in my way. Here are some photos I did get:

There was reception style food - but if you know me, I don't eat that weird crap. So, chicken on a stick and a mini-cupcake was all I had. But, the china was very nice. |

Me in my new dress on the steps of the "Executive Mansion". It was a) really sunny and b) really embarrassing for G to take this photo. |
