A nice weekend getaway - now back to the real world.

Weekend Recap:

Lucky for me, my weekend started around 12:30 on Friday afternoon. I left work early, ran to Chick-fil-A for a quick lunch, got home a little after 1 and finished getting my stuff together to head to the beach with some girls from my church/Bible study. We hit the road right at 2 and after a gas stop and a bathroom stop we finally made it to Cherry Grove (Myrtle Beach) around 6:30 or so. We got cleaned up a bit and then went to dinner at Broadway at the Beach. We ate at Landry's Seafood which was pretty good - but a storm came up as we finished so we went in and out of a few shops until the rain cleared out.

Free appetizer thanks to my foursquare check-in.

Me outside the KISS coffee shop - G loves KISS.

After that we went to Fat Harold's Beach Club which is always a good time. Everyone there knows how to shag like a professional and I am pretty sure you have to be at least 75 to go to this place. We were by far the youngest people there. After about an hour there we headed across the street to Duck's Beach Club which had a much younger crowd and a live band. We had a few drinks, danced a bit and had a good time. A little after midnight we headed back to the house.

Saturday we headed out shopping around 11am to the outlets. We made a quick stop at Wendy's for a lunch and then hit as many stores as we could (as quickly as we could) so that we could make it on the beach by 4. Here are a few great deals I found:

This was from the Ann Taylor Loft Outlet - it was originally $69.00 and I got it for $26.

I got both of these tops from Banana Republic for $22.99 (together) - another great deal...they had take an extra 30% off sale - yay!
Black wedge shoes from Nine West Outlet...$26.00 thanks to them being on sale and then one of the girls going in with me on the buy-one-get-one-half-off.
After shopping we finally hit the beach for a couple of hours which was nice - got cleaned up and then went to Filet's Steaks & Seafood right on the water with a great view of the swinging bridge.

After a nice long dinner we made a stop at the Krispy Kreme, came home and ate doughnuts and watched The Vow. Sunday morning we got up, ate more doughnuts for breakfast (score!) and hit the beach for a few more hours before it was time to head home. It was a great girls weekend away! Thankful for making new friends at our church and being able to spend time with them away from Wendell. Ha!

When I got home I had found that G had washed our cars, worked in the yard and had gotten stuff for dinner. (I think I'll be keeping him) And we tried spaghetti squash for the first time - where instead of using noodles for spaghetti you use the squash - it was actually pretty good! See the photo below.
Squash as the noodles...sorry the plate looks gross. G was getting his plate prepared for 2nd's when I snapped the photo.

Hope you all had a great weekend, too!
