So, I am on a committee at our church that helps raise funds for our new fellowship hall. I've had lots of fun being on the committee - I have met lots of great people and I really enjoy staying busy. However, we have been planning a chicken bbq sale for Saturday, June 9th for the last couple of weeks. The date has been on the calendar for a while and we have just started selling tickets and really getting down to the nitty gritty. Well, on Monday I found out that my Company Picnic is the same day and begins at 5pm - so, I say to husband: We can probably make it work. We'll just help with the BBQ Sale for most of the day and around 1pm we can go home to rest a bit, get cleaned up and then head to Durham (for the picnic and then the Bulls game that follows). He agrees. Although, I should go ahead and tell you that Greg is
NOT one for being busy and running all over the place. Plus, he
hates doesn't like adding "stuff" to the calendar last minute. It's just who he is - a planner. So, today we get an email and find out that his cousin's graduation is also on June 9th at 10am.
PROBLEM.
Our day would look like this:
4:30am - wake-up
5:15am - get to church and help set up and start getting the food going
7:45am - go home, shower and put on fancy clothes for the graduation
10am - graduation - toss the caps in the air and dart for the door (taking place at least an hour from our house)
2pm - get home and change clothes
3:30pm - head to Durham (about an hour from our house)
5pm - picnic with co-workers, ice-cream, happy-happy-happy
7pm - Bulls game with co-workers
9pm - leave game early
10pm - home. tired. grumpy.
And then Sunday = being lazy to make up for Saturday.
Yeah, that doesn't sound fun - not even for a minute. So, we'll have to figure out how this will really go. Hope your June 9th isn't as crazy as ours!
