Go America.

Today is Primary Day in North Carolina - I voted this morning on my way in to work. It was super fast and super easy. I am not sure why anyone wouldn't vote - and if you don't vote, don't complain. The biggest topic of this election is the Marriage Amendment. I don't care how you vote - it's your choice. I also am not going to tell you how I voted. When I was growing up, my mom and dad didn't discuss who they voted for - it was simply your decision and didn't need to be announced to the public. Boy have the times changed - Facebook is BLOWING up regarding how you should vote, how they voted and how stupid you are if you don't vote a certain way. I guess that's the power of social media. If you ask me how I feel about the topic, I would share - but offering up my opinion just because seems like a waste of time.

Although...there are some topics I feel strongly about and I will take the time to express how I feel here. The following are some laws I think should be put in place:

1. School buses should not be allowed on highways/roads that have a speed limit of 60mph or higher. Period. This is dangerous. This morning 15 cars almost wrecked because of a school bus on HWY 264. The speed limit is 70mph and most cars drive 75-80mph. I am a fan of the school bus system - don't get me wrong. I am just against driving 30 miles under the speed limit - find another route!

2. If you have Christmas (or any other holiday) decorations up more than 30 days past the holiday, you should get a fine from the city or town in which you live. This is a problem in our neighborhood. There is one house that leaves their Christmas wreath up YEAR ROUND. And it's not a small wreath that you can hardly notice. It's a BIG wreath over the window over of the bonus room of the garage that faces the street. I should also mention it has Christmas lights strung though it that come on each night. Seriously? I love Christmas and I am all about celebrating Jesus year 'round - but this is too much. Sometimes I tell Greg that I should slip out one night in the dark and take this wreath down. I am pretty sure they wouldn't notice it was gone - I mean, it's been up for TWO YEARS now. He says he'd help. Of course there would be exceptions to this law: if a death in the family has occurred, someone has become ill, or if they have broken their leg and can't get on a ladder. And, these exceptions can only be forgiven if they show proof (doctor's note, etc.) of these excuses. I suppose I need to keep plotting my wreath snatch.

Okay. So, enough politics. Let's just love America and let everyone vote how they wish. And, no buses on highways and no wreaths in the summer. Got it?
