Today's the 18th of February and we're due the 18th of March. Like, seriously - in one month, we'll have a baby. Finger's crossed he doesn't make his debut in February. If we make it to March, I'd feel a LOT better about everything. And, if we could make it to at least week 39, I'd feel even better. And for the record, I'm not against going in week 40 or 41. He's just fine where he is!
So far, no signs of baby - which is good. We go for our doctor's appointment on Wednesday. And, then every week from here on out. We hope to get the car seat installed on Wednesday before the doctor's appointment since we'll be right at the hospital. The guy who does it is there each weekday from 8am to 12pm.
On Saturday Greg and I went out for breakfast at Pam's Farmhouse. We haven't been here in a really long time - so it was nice to go - since it may be a while before we make it that far away for breakfast (they close at noon on Saturdays are aren't open on Sundays). Then we went to the mall - and - GASP! - G didn't even complain about it! We weren't there too long, maybe an hour and a half. While we were there it started snowing. It was very pretty out. We then rode to Home Goods & TJ Maxx to look for baskets for baby's room. We were in luck.
Afterwards we hit the Meat House to get steak for dinner and twice baked potatoes - they were fabulous. But, we weren't done yet. We stopped into Babies R Us and then stopped and got pizza lunch on the way home.
When we got home, we were pretty lazy for the rest of the afternoon. G did get brave and opened up the pack-n-play. Guys, if it's your first time putting one together, it's much more complicated than you think. Once you get the hang of it, you feel pretty silly for letting it get the best of you in the first place. However, it's up. The woman (I am assuming it was a woman) who invented these, is a baby genius. We don't even have a baby yet, and it's easy to see how often you could use this thing.
Sunday School was cancelled due to driving conditions - but we made it to church, came home and ate leftovers for lunch, and then headed to our baby shower thrown by G's family. It was very nice - we had a great time and got a lot of more nice things. We are overwhelmed, still, by the great generosity for us and baby boy. There are photos - but I haven't had time to download them (yet).
This week is really busy - a shower at my work tomorrow evening, a fancy work event Wednesday evening, Thursday night a hair appointment, dinner with G's family on Friday...Everyone says these weeks drag, but when you're as busy as we are, I'm not sure that's possible!
