30 Weeks

I can't believe we're in the "30s" of this pregnancy. People say "how far along are you now?" and I'm like "10 weeks" and they look confused. Then I realize I'm counting down now, and not up - so then I say 30 weeks. It's crazy how fast things seem to go between week 20 and now.

What's going on with us? Well, baby has gotten REALLY active over the last couple of weeks. And by active, I mean there were more times today that I felt baby than when I didn't. Maybe he sleeps at night when I sleep? Anyway, it's really a cool feeling. According to the websites and books, Baby Lane is around 3 pounds now. Which seems SO BIG compared to our little bean sprout we saw back at 8 weeks. The human body is really a perfectly made thing by the good Lord.

Not sure if I mentioned it here, but Greg has been working on a couple of house updates since after Christmas. He (with some help of his dad) put up chair railing and crown molding through the living room, kitchen, foyer and hallway. So, this past weekend he finished caulking and puttying. He hopes to start painting all of that this week/weekend - and when that's done, he'll paint the baby's room. It looks really great - and I'm lucky to have a guy willing to do all this work without me!

We've also been trying to enjoy each other's company as much as we can. So, on the weekend's we've splurged a little more eating out than we normally would - just because we know for a while we won't be able to just head out for 2-3 hours eating dinner and grabbing ice cream.

Our next doctor appointment is Wednesday. And then next Wednesday evening we have our first birthing class - wish us luck! There are 4 or 5 of these (I can't remember) - I'll keep you posted as to how those go. We also have our first baby shower on January 27 - can't believe we're almost to that point! But, we're excited for all that's to come and already feel beyond blessed.
