A pretty big announcement...

So - the reason this blog has been lacking is because I have been keeping a secret. Yep. A really BIG secret. And, now, I am sharing my secret with you....

 

Yep - it's true. G and I made a baby. Questions?

When are you due?
Our EDD is Monday, March, 18 2012 - March is a great month for us. We were engaged on March 14! The above Ultrasound photo is from our 12w3d appointment - so, Baby Lane has changed a lot since then I'm sure - but that was our last ultrasound, so that is the photo I used. Plus, Baby Lane looks like it's throwing up a gang sign Peace sign which is pretty fun. It's like (s)he is saying "Whattup world - here I am!"

How far along are you?
Today I am 16w2d. Went to the doctor yesterday and heard Little Lane's heart beat (153 for those who are curious) and the doctor felt the my uterus and said it was "perfect."

Are you going to find out what you're having?
Yes. Greg didn't really want to find out, but I really do - so, I won. So, we find out at our ultrasound on October 29 - we will have the doctor seal it in an envelope and go out to a fancy dinner and open it up - just the two of us. After that, we hope to find a fun, exciting way to tell our family and then of course our friends. So, stay tuned.

What do you think you're having?
Greg = girl
Me = boy
And, all of the online prediction tests say boy, too. So, I think I am right on this one. (Although I know these are completely made up and unreliable)

Do you have names picked out?
Not really - we have a few that we like or really don't like but no decision yet. We probably won't tell anyone until the baby is actually here - so, don't get your hopes up about a big reveal!

How big are you?
I feel like I am big - but, you probably think I am just eating too many Cheetos (which is true). I can no longer button my pants so the Bella Band is in full force. So far, I am up 3-4 pounds - depending on what I had for dinner the night before.

How did you find out?
It's a long story - and don't worry - I've been writing "secret" blog posts since week 5 of this pregnancy - so, I will start to post them next week and you'll get to see exactly what I felt and what I was thinking through this process. It will include how/when we found out, how we told our parents and other family, and that first magical doctor's appointment where we heard Baby Lane's heartbeat. Unless I re-read something and sound like a complete fool, you'll get to see it all.

Why did you wait so long to share?
Honestly, if it wasn't for Greg this would not be going up until our big anatomy scan later this month. I just know how much things can go wrong - and through encouragement from Greg and faith that the Lord will keep me brave for telling, here I am letting you know today. G made it official on Facebook on Tuesday after our appointment - so we are completely outed. Still keep us in your prayers!

Did you have morning sickness?
No - not even a little bit. Just some really bad acne, bacne, etc.

A big thank you to our family, especially our parents, who kept this a secret for a pretty long time. Another big thank you for all of the excitment, hugs, prayers and support - we love each of you and we are so blessed to have such loving friends, family and church members in our lives.
