We just returned from our vacation to Orlando with G's family. We left last Saturday (we flew, the rest of the gang drove) - and landed in Orlando around 4:30pm. Then we had to pick-up our rental car and head to the house that was rented for the week for our stay. We finally got to the house and ordered pizza and hit the sack at a decent time to hit the park on Sunday morning. We visited all 4 Disney parks and Universal's Island of Adventures throughout the week. It was a busy, fun filled and hot week! Here are some photos from the trip:
| We made some memories. |
| We visited Cinderella's castle. |
| G rode the teacups. |
| I pulled a sword from a stone. |
| We met Donald Duck. |
| We ate. A lot. |
| G protested for peace at the Muppets show. |
| We hung out with a cool camel. |
| We saw some other animals, too. |
| G did some painting and I did some cooking. |
There are tons of other photos but this should hold you over. I didn't get G in Mickey ears...but he did put on that beret...double points.
A few things I learned from this trip:
1. When traveling to or from Orlando you will be around a lot of children. And by a lot I mean 8,787,387 of them. There are like 5 for every adult. Being on a flight with a lot of
children poorly behaved children is not a ton of fun. Lucky for us the flight from MCO to RDU is only an hour and 21 minutes. (but who was counting?)
2. If you have anyone in your party who looks older - you can put them in a wheel chair or electric chair and you can get in the front of every line at Disney. Yes - even if they have 20 people with them - they all get to cut in line.
3. When wearing matching t-shirts with your family to a theme park a lot of people will
stare at your chest read your shirt and make comments that they think are witty.
4. If you are collecting Starbucks city mugs - don't plan on getting one in Orlando. I went to 5 Starbucks and called about 10 others (that were within 45 minutes of our house) and they were all "sold out". If you are going there and see one, please purchase it for me. Thanks.
We had a great time - my parents picked us up from the airport (our car was left at their house) and lucky for us my mom had made spaghetti sauce for us that we will enjoy tomorrow - score! We also stopped by the grocery store for the week, unpacked, finished laundry and supper by 6:30 - super score!
Big shout out to my dad - Happy Father's Day! Love you, tons - forever and always.
